Head Lice - General Questions
What is a Head Louse / are Head Lice?
The head louse, and the plural head lice, are parasites that cause infestations in humans. They have no wings and primarily spend their life on your scalp breeding and feeding. Human blood is their primary source of food.
How are Head Lice spread?
Head lice can pass from person to person when people share personal items such as combs, towels, clothing, hats, and hairbrushes. Lice are not spread by dogs, cats, or other pets. Because lice cannot jump or fly, they crawl from one person to another, using their claws to grab onto hair.

After Head Lice - What to do?
Can I Get Head Lice Again?
Unfortunately, you can get head lice again. Our lice treatments are 99.9% effective and will treat and remove your head lice. We remove the nits and kill the eggs, so you will be fully lice free. That doesn’t stop you from getting reinfected from contact with someone else who has head lice. If you or your family come in contact with someone with active lice, nits and eggs, you can get lice again – and you and that person will need to be treated again.
You can avoid head lice by spraying your head every day with Lice Lifters Lice deterrent mint spray. Lice do not like the smell of mint. In addition, wear your hear pulled back in a ponytail or bun as well as avoiding head to head contact.
